Chapter 4 – What’s been going on so far?

After kissing in the locker rooms, Abián and Rayco go out of their way to avoid each other at the factory. Abián deliberately skips Tuesday’s coupling supervision, and Rayco doesn’t bother chasing the engineer to make sure he fulfills his shifts. Meanwhile, Jara ropes Abián into going for a run together, much to the doctor’s dismay, as he struggles to keep up with an experienced triathlete. But it also gives him a chance to find out that Jara and Rayco share a friendship that goes beyond their professional relationship.

Jara pressures Rayco to make sure Abián doesn’t skip any supervisions. So on Thursday, Rayco personally goes up to Abián’s office with the intention of dragging him down. But things don’t go quite as planned, and they end up sleeping together at Abián’s place.

The type who says no at first, but then goes along with it super easily.

Supporting characters

Jara – 42 years old. Head of engineering.

Does triathlons, marathons, and all kinds of crazy physical challenges. She’s a close friend of Rayco.

She’d probably take down Rayco and Abián. Together.

Joan – Quality Engineer. Refuses to take off his flannel plaid shirts in the summer and cranks the air conditioning way down.

Ale – Preparation Phase Engineer. Always wears long sleeves, and for some reason, she chopped off the long blonde hair she had when she started.

Carme – Post-processing Engineer. She’s been working at PROYPAL for 25 years. Makes really delicious cakes.

Abián’s Father – Professor at the university where Abián also used to work. He’s very angry with his son over his sudden disappearance. He gives him an ultimatum: either he comes back from his delusion within a month, or he’ll have to face the consequences.

Atteneri – Abián’s ex-fiancée. Not sure if those lips are real.

Conchi – Abián’s next-door neighbor. She has a little dog named Zucchini. According to her, she could tell from the very first minute that Rayco and Abián were hooking up. Which is impossible, but who’s going to tell this lady otherwise?

Rob – A worker on Rayco’s team. He’s a bit slow on the uptake, but he’s really nice.

Anna – A worker on Rayco’s team. If she’d been a bit quicker (and quieter) going up to the offices, she would’ve hit the jackpot.

Zucchini – Conchi’s dachshund. Her favorite show is “Vice and Lust Among Volcanoes.”
She’s really into her new neighbor.
